Registration Procedures

Conference Fees

The conference fee includes the proceedings, lunches and coffee breaks daily, the welcome reception and the conference banquet.

Notes:

1. Student/Postdoc registration fees apply only to those in the list of grants.
2. The extra-fee of 32 Euros for Non-EUROMECH members is a contribution to the Society.
3. The accompanying person fee includes a city tour, the welcoming reception and the conference banquet, including transport.

• In case of cancellation of registration:
  • A written request for a refund must be received by the meeting secretariat no later than June 7th, 2007. Refunds are subjected to a 50 Euros processing fee.
  • Participants with communications in the proceedings (authors) are subjected to an additional fee of 250 Euros, i.e. the cover price of the book of proceedings and its shipping costs.

Tutorial

The tutorial, to be held during the conference and with no additional charge, will be restricted to a maximum number of participants, selected according to the registration order.

Accommodations

Requests received are subject to space availability. All efforts will be made to confirm the accommodation/room type desired. Rates are in Euros, per room and per night, with breakfast and taxes included. For further information, refer to the Hotel Websites.

Tours

The number of participants conditions the tours. In case of cancellation, the registration desk, during the conference, will process the reimbursements.

PORTO PANORAMIC CITY TOUR
Half-day (afternoon-week days)

14h30 - Departure for a panoramic city tour of Porto. This Tour will give you a general idea of the city, of its historical and modern quarters and its cultural and social aspects. It will pass nearby the most important monuments of the town such as Tower of Clérigos, Boavista Avenue (modern area of the town), and Castelo do Queijo – the 17th Cent. Fortress S. Francisco Xavier. The Tour includes a a guided visit to the Stock Exchange Palace, an imposing building of the 19th. Century, famous for its marvellous “Moorish Hall” and S. Francisco Church built on the 13h.century in gothic style. Tour proceeds with a walk through Ribeira old quarters declared by UNESCO as “Porto World Heritage” and a visit to a Port Wine Cellar with wine tasting. Return to the Hotels. MINHO TOUR
Full-day (week-days)

09:00 - Departure from the Hotel to visit the Northern Province of Portugal – Minho, one of the most beautiful and historic regions of Portugal. First stop at Guimarães, the Nation’s birthplace, including a visit to the Ducal Palace and a walking guided tour of the historical centre. The tour proceeds to the historic Ponte de Lima Village, famous for its imposing roman bridge and manor houses. Stop for lunch. The tour continues to Valença, fortified town, for a walking guided tour. Return to Porto, passing through Vila Nova de Cerveira, Caminha and Viana do Castelo, known for its embroideries, jewellery and folklore. Stop for a panoramic tour of the city. Return to the Hotel. Duration of the Tour: 8H00 Price per person, valid for a minimum of 20 participants: EUR 82,00 Price Includes: Transport by Air Conditioning Motorcoach, Assistance of an Official Guide, Entrance in Monuments as described, Lunch.

CRUISE IN DOURO RIVER – PORTO/RÉGUA/PORTO
Full-Day (Saturday’s)

11h30 - Passengers meeting at Gaia Quay. 10h30 - Departure to Régua During this trip we can enjoy a unique landscape of rare beauty, including the wine terraces, small villages with red and white roofs in an harmony between man and nature. It’s worth to mention the floodgates, the Crestuma – Lever with a 14 meters difference in level, and the Carrapatelo – the biggest in Europe- with 35 meters difference in level. Breakfast and lunch served on board, such as Port Wine aperitif during the morning. 17h00 - Arrival at Régua. Return to Porto by Air Conditioning Motorcoach with the arrival at Gaia Quay around 20h30. Price per person: EUR 89,00 Price includes: Cruise Porto-Régua-Porto with Lunch on board.
